LAVENDER ESSENTIAL OIL SOUTH ISLAND (NEW ZEALAND)
Low content of Linalool make this oil very effective and safe, especially for skin applications. Lavender is well known as calming oil, a mild sedative, a gentle but effective support to fight insomnia, anxiety, and it is an invaluable skin healer and disinfectant. It is a general antispasmodic so it can be used for its pain calming properties for muscles, digestive system and endocrine system.
Lavender is the most popular, versatile and effective Essential oil. Originally from continental Europe, it is now largely cultivated in many countries, from Siberia to New Zealand. The name “lavender” is derived from the Latin lavare, meaning, “to wash” as Lavender was considered by the Romans a great general fighter to many ailments and was largely used in the 'bathhouses' (thermae). Lavender True (Lavandula angustifolia) is the most popular variety of lavenders; Lavender Spike (Lavandula Spica) and Lavandin (Lavandula intermedia, a hybrid produced from angustifolia and spica) are also important essential oils, but with a different chemistry.
